Back during the election between Mitt Romney and President Obama, we had the chance to go to a couple rallies. This one was in Newport News at the ship yard. We surprised the kids and picked them up from school. They were sooo happy when we told them we were going to see Mitt Romney speak. It down poured the entire time but it was well worth it. The Jones' and the Cottles came too. The Jones' made it in but by the time the Cottles got there they were not letting anyone else in. The Cottles got to go to another rally where they served pizza to everyone in the crowd. Tom and Henley and May went to that one too. That one was at the Newport News Airport in the Smithfield Ham's hanger. They were selected to sit in the bleachers behind Mitt and received beanies (hats) and buttons to pin on their shirt. We were sad when our man didn't win the election and I think Tom was in mourning for a couple weeks after that (he was in good company at church) but we all know he would've been the best!
All of us got to shake Mitts hand and Michael even got interviewed for tv. He was on the news that night for a few seconds. It was awesome!
