This is a picture of Tom meeting with our builder. His name is Willie. They are going over the plans and getting everything ready to start! We were soooo excited when the big semi truck pulled in with the excavator on it! It wasn't long after, Chase, the guy who does the clearing was out hear pushing down trees and clearing our lot. The kids had a great time watching and we couldn't have been more excited!! It was funny though, the day they started clearing was a Saturday which around here is YARD SALE day! So most of everyone that lives here on the "compound" was out looking for treasures. Meanwhile, I get a frantic phone call from Spencer saying there is some guy looking in the windows at Old Grandpa Jones house. He called me because he couldn't get Laura and Tom who were also out at yard sales. So, I called dad right away and he went to check it out. Tom also left right away to make sure dad had someone there for backup! So, Grandpa Jones gets there and when he does the guy runs in the woods. Spencer and the rest of the Cottle gang are yelling "grandpa, he's running in the woods go, go! " But, Grandpa can't hear them so the guy gets away. So, grandpa goes in the woods and is trying to find this man and Tom has hall tailed it down the road to see if he sees him. So, we are all waiting on Laura's front porch to hear something from either dad or Tom, then Tom calls and says "I see him, he just ran back into the woods". So Tom calls the police and they start looking for this guy too. After 2 hours of this kid (he was only 14) running, they finally got him. It was so exciting! The kids talked about it all day. The clearing of our new house was not nearly as exciting as playing cops and robbers! The only one who did not enjoy it was Henley. He pretty much cried the whole time and wanted to leave the property because he was terrified. He finally calmed down after me and him snuck into Laura's bedroom and said a quick prayer to help him calm down!
Ps. As all this is going down, Grandma Jones is in her kitchen making deviled eggs completely clueless of anything going on outside!
The night they burned all the brush, we ordered pizzas and sat around the HUGE bon fire! The girls were at Grandma's since Mya was in town.
